WHAT FORMAT AND EQUIPMENT DO WE USE?

We use the digital format for shooting and editing. Shooting and editing digitally keeps the costs down and allows more flexibility, the kit is more transportable and easier to use than traditional equipment. Digital is the future and more and more films are being shot using the digital format. The courses will be conducted at the Brady Arts centre which has editing stations, studios and a viewing theatre. We will be using Canon and Sony digital cameras and Avid and Final Cut Pro editing solutions.

ARE THERE GRANTS OR LOANS AVAILABLE FOR STUDY AT TCCOL?

TCCOL does not currently provide scholarships or grants for film studies. However, you may want to contact your regional screen agency to see whether funding is available. A list of the agencies can be found here: Regional Screen Agencies. Alternatively you could check under funding for help to help pay for yo! ur course.

WHAT CERTIFICATION WILL I RECEIVE AT THE END OF THE COURSE?

Students who successfully complete the 'One Year Film Making' course will receive a Diploma Certificate from the college. while students participating in the 'Film 4 Management' workshop will receive an acknowledgement of having participated in the workshop.

WHAT IS ACCREDITATION?

Accreditation means recognition by a certifying agency regarding the general organisation, supervision and control over the students and staff, quality of teaching and support services and legal and financial viability of the accredited institution.

IS TCCOL ACCREDITATED?

The Central College Of London (TCCOL) is fully accredited by The British Accreditation Council (BAC) and the Departmet for Education and Skills (DfES) UK for independent further and higher education in United Kingdom. Accreditation means recognition by a certifying agency regarding the general organisation, supervision and control over the stude! nts and staff, quality of teaching and support services and legal and financial viability of the accredited institution. BAC acts as the national accreditation authority in Great Britain.

HOW CAN I APPLY FOR COURSES AT TCCOL?

The college has two different admission procedures one for the students who are already in the UK and other for the student who are outside the UK.

The detailed procedure is given in the college web page apply now or can be referred in the college prospectus.

Admission Procedure:

The completed application form should be accompanied by:
Two passport size photographs of the student
Certified copies of all relevant educational certificates
A registration fee of £50 for students from outside the EU (a non-refundable administrative charge)

On verification of the documents, the college will issue the student with a provisional registration letter.

Only on the receipt of a minimum of £2,000 (for students from outside the EU) will the college issue a full enrolment letter, which is required for visa applications. (This is fully refundable if the visa is refused, Please refer to the refund policy).

All payments should be made in the form of bank draft in the favour of The Central College Of London (TCCOL).

WHAT ARE THE ENTRY REQUIREMENTS?

In general students should be a minimum of 18 years old. TCCOL operates a rolling admissions policy for most of our courses. We accept students throughout the year until the courses are filled. The school maintains a high staff-to-student ratio with class sizes of around ten to 12 students - so book early!
HOW MUCH DO I HAVE TO PAY TO ENROLL FOR COURSES AT TCCOL?

The initial fees payable to the college for enrolling in any subjects with TCCOL is given in the prospectus under the heading Admission Procedure or in the apply now. For detailed information contact the
college administration or by post to the TCCOL office.
WHAT ARE THE SESSION DATES?

Our Session starts three times over a year and is divided into three terms

1. Classes begin second Monday of January, May and September every year.
2. Enrolment by 1st week of January, May and September for the respective sessions.

(Admissions are processed throughout the year.)
HOW DO I APPLY FOR A UK VISA?

International students will need a visa to come to the United Kingdom. Please check with the British Embassy / British High Commission or the
British Council for the visa application procedure. For full visa information, contact the Home Office. However, the following are generally required:


An original full acceptance letter of admission (or unconditional offer letter) from the college. This will be provided after payment of the due fees
Proof of sufficient funds to support your studies and stay in UK
Sponsorship letter
Sponsor’s itemized bank statement for the last six months and sponsor’s source of income documents
Your original educational certificates, previous qualifications and related certificates (evidence that you possess minimum qualifications)
Your passport
Your travel arrangements
Your accommodation arrangements in the UK
Three colour passport photographs

WILL MY TUITION FEES BE REFUNDED IF MY APPLICATION FOR A STUDENT VISA IS REFUSED?

TCCOL has a policy to refund the tuition fee in full to the students in the following circumstances.

A. If the admission is rejected by the TCCOL Admission Office or
B. If the visa application is rejected by the British high Commission. (This is applicable for students applying from outside the EU)

The college refunds the tuition fee in full except for the £50 registration fee which will be retained as the administration charge.

WHAT ARE THE LEGAL REQUIREMENTS FOR STUDENTS IN THE UK?

Full time international students in the UK are supposed to take the daytime classes during weekdays for at least at least 18-21 hours per week. Final examination assessments are based on assignments; take mock exams and unseen written examinations. Usually, International students in the UK can legally work for only 20 hours a week during term time.
DOES TCCOL PROVIDE ACCOMODATION?

TCCOL does provide accommodations of its own for further information and booking your room contact the
administrator.

If you are interested in staying with a host family, it is worth looking into the 'Homestay' scheme. Homestay allows you to stay at the house of a British family. This type of accommodation is particularly suitable for students who wish to develop their spoken English and is a suitable for short term accommodation. CAN I GET A JOB IN LONDON?

There are lots of part time jobs available in London, but students will have to look for the jobs themselves. TCCOL can only provide guidance on how to look for jobs.

DO I NEED IELTS/TOEFL BEFORE I ENROLL AT 'TCCOL'?

To get admitted with “TCCOL”, IELTS/TOEFL is not a absolutely necessity. It is advisable that you have one of the above tests scores to prove your proficiency in English language. If your language is deemed to be of below the required standard the college recommends you to take the in-house supplementary English language classes run by the college including the IELTS classes.

HOW DO I PAY FOR MY FEES?

You can make payments through a bank draft and send it to the college address. All cheques and drafts should be crossed and made payable in favour of The Central College Of London (TCCOL) or any enquiries about fees can be made by email.
